Derailment damage: AWS receiver broken and bracket bent, cable damaged, fuel tank holed, steps broken, drawbar at No.1 end bent and coupling to be renewed, all guard irons bent, sand pipes broken at No.2 end, toilet pipe (waste) broken and buffer at No.2 end L/H/S to be examined, bogies to be examined for alignment and spring centres to be examined, No.5 traction motor bellows to be refitted, slight deflection on No.s 3 & 4 wheelsets - the following replacement items were fitted; No.1 right hand buffer, No.2 left hand fuel tank, toilet pipe, screw coupling guard. The following items were repaired; No.1 end vacuum pipe elbow and bracket, No.1 end left hand warning horn, No.1 left hand bogie wheel restraining pad a new primary fan shaft was fitted to No.2 power unit 419. Modified exhaust collector tanks were fitted and bogies No.1 1035 replaced by 1005 & No.2 1036 replaced by 1006.
